I recently participated at the Mission College's "Best Of The Best" Gala. The art department asked me if I would be willing to donate any of my art to be auctioned off for their fundraiser. I gave them my first completed painting, titled Oedipus Redux (acrylic on canvas, 40 x 60). The idea was to portray a tormented individual, who is constantly fighting his way out of a corner of his own, subconscious creation. Never fully excepting his past, dealing with it or moving on. In other words, a very happy piece.
I also joined the "live artist" demonstrations. Knowing people would be asking me question while I was panting, I decided to do an abstract piece. I thought creating anything too detailed would require both time and concentration, which I wouldn't have. It was completed in 3 hour time we were given, and titled A Happy Ending. At the end of the night, both paintings found happy owners.
