The Last Supper

The Last Supper, 2010, ink on paper/ink wash, 14 x 17;

Many of my projects deal with equality.  I always found the idea of Jesus, as being the ultimate underdog.  The man who is truly willing to sacrifice everything for his ideology, his belief.  What attracted me to Leonardo's Last Supper was the action of all participants.  They were not just somberly propped around Jesus, puppets without expressions and emotions.  Leonardo's Apostles were truly alive, active.  Their actions framed the calmness of Jesus, and bring Leonardo's masterpiece to life.
The biggest thrill for this drawing was re-interpreting all the participants.  What would Peter look like?  And Judas?  And just what would they be doing in this modern world.
